Imagine a room devoid of windows, where one can only ponder the wind undoing the world outside. This is the essence of "La Stanza dello Scirocco" – a collection of geometrically irregular items crafted from small, interlaced splinters of various sizes, balancing precariously.
Designer Mario Trimarchi conceived the idea of recounting this enchanting space through a series of hand-drawn sketches and shadow-play images. He then invited everyone to contribute their own imaginative interpretations, ever so slightly, to this evocative narrative.
Designed by Mario Trimarchi in 2009, the "La Stanza dello Scirocco" range emerged from the abstract and motionless atmosphere of a magical place – the secluded rooms found in grand Sicilian country homes, where people would seek refuge from the oppressive heat, awaiting the subsidence of the sirocco wind.
Crafted in 18/10 stainless steel with a black epoxy resin finish, this fruit basket captures the essence of the room's haunting ambiance. The design is inspired by the fluttering and scattering of cards in the wind, their shadows dancing across the walls.
To preserve the integrity of this delicate piece, hand-washing is recommended, and prolonged exposure to moisture should be avoided.
